Miscellaneous drivers for lots of other hardwareĨ1-libretro is an work in progress port of the EightyOne (a.k.a.Sega System 1, System 16 (and similar), System 18, X-Board and Y-Board.Data East DEC-0, DEC-8 and DECO IC16 based games. But that will basically mean restart a save from scratch only to play with those cheats code, which is often pointless as we want to cheat on progress we've made to progress furtherĪnd let's not even start about how to create/find cheat code when whats available for selected ROM (or at all) is very often not what you need.Compatible: PS Vita & PlayStation TV (Vita TV) So it's super easy if you take the ROM which have the most code available and the emulator supporting most of them, at least the ones you need, and you ignore totally the RetroArch system. And on top of that RetroArch don't differenciate code type in its database and mix them all and have its own cheat code system, where you can convert some of those codes, but not all, and it has to be done manually. Often it's impossible to export save state or game save because they are too made only for one ROM and often won't work on other ROMs. So if you made your whole progress on one ROM that is not the one the code were made for, well too bad. GameHacking is filled with codes that doesn't work, code that are made for different cheat engines and emulator support sometimes some, sometimes nothing, and worse, code are made only for one ROM file. Here's a good visual guide on all of this that I found:įYI it's not super easy at all. You can also apparently download tons of cheats from within retroarch's online updater, but I haven't figured that out yet. The downloading ability is great because there can be some codes that are dozens of lines long. The download is a text file that you just load in retroarch once and then it makes a nice list of the cheats organized by title where you can select which cheats to enable at any given time. Some games like Mario Kart 64 have hundreds of codes, so cherry picking them is a nice feature. The site makes it super easy to download every code for just a selected bunch of codes for a given game. The settings are a little tricky, be sure to enable a cheat you make or download and also enable starting the cheats when the game starts - then stop the game with "Stop content" and then start the game again.Īlso, you can download cheats files from. This is probably only news to me, but over in the cheats section of retroarch for any game you can input old game genie and/or pro action replay codes.
